Thanks Chad. I just did not have time to read it all. I think the
main
problem will be writing the M code software to interface to the
automatic tool
changer that I have on my mill. After this we will take the
thread off line as
I think most people are not interested. I'll order the card in a
day
or so and start installing as time allows. Here is a picture of
my Kasuga.
I'll need to scan in the auto tool changer interface info and
email it to you. I'll also take some more pictures of the mill
today.

Hopefully I'll get to see it in person someday, when my Cozy is
finished. I
took a look through the EMC code base a bit more, and it looks VERY
modular. I
think it would be straightforward to create a new module for your
Kasuga based
on the Bridgeport Mill code modules but a lot depends on the
completeness of
the interface information that you have. I agree we should take
this offline,
but I don't have your private e-mail address. You have mine,
though, just drop
me a line off-list. =)

Regards,
Chad

OK Chad my private email is the same. Just put the word PRIVATE in
the subject box.
I'll send you a list of M codes I need supported for the tool changer
later today.

Paul-

I've got a Bridgeport Series I CNC rigid ram and I am also using EMC.
I've left the stepper motors on for now, so I am using the parallel
port, but as EMC is so modular it is really easy to switch to the
servotogo card later. Also, the emc guys are working on something
called the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL, pretty ominous!) that will
let you configure almost any motion card to work. Get yourself on the
emc mailing list at sourceforge and join the fun!
