This is a rig to find TDC firing number one rotor. This must be known
to
compare any porting figures from known engines or published tables.

The angle stock pivots on a piece off a cut off case bolt. At TDC the
edge of
the angle stock must be exactly parallel with the vertical. I used
the water
seal marks to measure from to establish that relationship. The
distance from
the crank throw to the dial indicator doubles the amount of movement
and makes
resolution inside of one degree possible. Once you establish TDC,
rotate the
degree wheel, so that TDC is directly under your pointer. Lock down
the crank
nut, and the pointer mounting system. Remove the crank being careful
not to
disturb the degree wheel. Assemble the rotor housing and dowels and a
rotor.
Reinstall the crank and begin to investigate various timing events.
