Aft Propeller - Unducted 4' Diameter Fan

A four-foot fan. Must be because they just can't turn up

that ridiculous

piston contraption powerplant. Mine is 38" or 3.17 foot.
Although if you are trying to run unducted a little more

diameter would

probably be good.

I have to chime in here.....On the surface, it would appear

that if we

could possibly come up with an efficient unducted fan prop for

the rotary

engine, and eliminate PSRU's, well....sign me up for one.

Getting rid of the PSRU is the ONLY reason I'm doing what I'm

doing

Paul. However, I'm running the engine at 5500 which is probably

about

the MINIMUM RPM you would want to run a rotary. With the new

engines

hitting 10,000 RPM, I just can't see an unducted fan working on

a rotary.

For a direct drive rotary, either standard 2500 RPM or unducted

fan 4000

RPM, we need a SCALED UP Mazda with a higher displacement

turning lower

RPM.
If I could get some NASA money to develop these things I would

do it.

Beyond my means otherwise.
