Practically any modern vehicle can be made to last longer with proper

maintenance-- i.e. correct oil change intervals-- regardless of type of oil.
You may
have noted that all of us who use Mobil 1 have extended change intervals, up to
3 or 4 times as many miles as that recommended by the manufacturer.  One word
of caution:  If you do not follow the prescribed oil change intervals in a
vehicle under warranty, you could void your warranty.

I have never had an engine failure using Mobil 1, nor has my brother,

regardless of miles.  The body and chassis usually wear out first.

I've been using Mobil 1, and Mobil's Delvac 1 in my diesels for 25 years... the
engines have never failed, but I do change the filters every 3,500 - 5,000
miles. On the Delvac 1, the PowerStroke has 120,000 on the oil change. With 2
quarts in the filter dumped every 5K miles, you could say the 4 gals have been
cycled a few times. The Spectral oil analysis shows the oil to still be in "new"
specs.
