Hi Ed,
I came up with few minor improvements in the under the engine two
pass rad you built for me. In the next one you make please replace the
straight barb on the right side with a 45 degree tube bend. That
will simplify things greatly. Also please add a bung for the 1/2 inch
pipe
connection to the water rez. Also we need to limit the rad core length
to 19.5 inches which matches the length of the stock Mazda RX7
oil cooler. The width for the rad should be about 16 inches max
so there is room for the five inch wide RX7 oil cooler along side.

Given the two inch thick cores that will give us a core volume
of about 600 cubic inches which should be about right for the current
state of the art. Time will tell if that is too much or too little.
In theory it is too much and some day I hope someone tries a one inch
core
in this position. A one inch core should cool better at lower speeds
not to mention being more efficient. All new car cores are about one
inch
thick.

Jerry, Note there is room to move those Kis MM diagonal brace tube
firewall
hard points up five inches and still clear the stock or custom oil
pan. That will allow a bit more flexibility for rad mounting.

Nothing like hind sight.

My C & R rad has threaded bungs.  you can screw in  whatever  type of
fitting you want from a beaded hose fitting to AN.  I think they will
sell the bungs.  Jerry

Can't beat the reliability. I am not sure if that size hose gives the best
cooling. It seems to work fine.  I am still experimenting with that.
