Don't know but since it is all carbon fiber my guess is under 1000

class at Reno as they dominated the O-200 Formula 1 class for the last

ten

years.

They hope to race it a Reno this year with the special dual turbo

Lycoming

built for them. Here are some pictures of the buck making process that

across the taxi way from my hangar. Jon Sharp the engineer/designer

the Lockheed Skunk works and as access to everything from wind tunnels

Paul,
That's interesting, they make the fuselage with L and R halves rather

than

conventual top and bottom half - probably easier to incorporate the

vertical

stabilizer, for kit manufacture.

Actually the vertical split has been more common in the composite kits
()Pulsar, Glassair, Lancair etc the KIS with the horiz split makes the
assy process less painful, but does compromise some of the things
you would like to put in the fuselage shape,

Why do you need the NXT  - if you can truly put 900 hp in
a Lancair 4P you would wax him big time - no way does
he have less than half the flat plate drag of the lancair. The game
is almost pure horsepower over flat plate drag, and the bigger
heavier 4P  would have an easier time in traffic,

You just got done telling me induced drag (HP) did not matter at Reno.

I am guessing he will be twenty MPH faster than the Lancair.
Assuming of course they don't have engine problems. Jon Sharp knows
exactly what he is doing.
