Anyway, as far as the belt PSRU is concerned there are some good design for
low HP levels.
The biggest problems is Tracking, counter-lever stresses on the bearings and
failure of the belt itself. The higher the HP the more these problems become
evident.

Timing Belt drives are at best marginal at 200 HP when well designed. That is with a 4" wide HTD belt! Tracking a belt wider than that won't be easy.  The
morse drive chain is a much better choice for high power "belted drives" much better for HP and the Hi-Vo chain simulates a gear tooth engagement, and is much
more robust.
Offset drives require heavy housings to stand up to torque.
