yes I am using studs, but the PP insert is all JB Weld fit. This is
an
easy
way to get the test engine going and not neccesarily the best
solution
for
the flight configuration. Also, if it turns out that my IO, which is
the
same as the LeMans engine had, is too early I will loose the hard
point
for
the upper stud. Future testing will tell.
BTW, I just finished my test TB.

The IO is 32MM above C/L, and the port size is 38MM. It idles now at 1000
RPM on the side port and the PP can be cut in anywhere above 2500 RPM. Once
the PP has kicked in, it does not matter what you do with the side port. all
this is happening below 4000RPM and insufficient load on the e-shaft.
I have not set everything in concrete at this time, but it is running pretty
good since yesterday.
