On second thought weld on four tabs. That will give people
the options of left, right, center or both for Chris Cosman :)
Space them to straddle mount the oil pan bolts so some
one can tighten the oil pan bolts with an extension and socket.

Ed, I'll ship you my oil pan so you can add these four tabs.
Also I'll need a four inch round pocket added to the bottom of
mine to clear the stock pick up tube and screen. My pan is a bit
too shallow.

A 3/8 hole is shown in the tabs because a 1/2 inch bolt for the rubber
ball joint is way too big and heavy. Make some aluminum spacers
one inch long 5/8th OD to go into the rubber ball joint so people can use
a 3/8th bolt. Also the bearing stress of that thin stock steel spacer
would be too high on the 1/4 inch thick aluminum tabs when the
1/2 inch bolt is over tightened. The steel spacer would bite into
the aluminum and make a mess of those tabs. See picture.

Finally don't forget the oil drain bung for 1/4 NPT minimum.


BTW if anybody wants one of these combination
oil pan/oil air separator/rear motor mount
now is the time to speak up.

How much, Paul? I'm not ready to install my engine yet but if the price isn't
too bad I might hedge my bets and go ahead and just get it now.
