Why is the firewall 1" taller? Did you modify the whole front of the
     fuse on the RV-4? Strange :)

     Wow 45 inches! That a lot. Did you move the engine forward?

Yeah, I did modify things a bit. I saw that Tracy had to make a bulge for his alternator. I Just cut off the firewall straight across the top of the top brace
and put the new one on. That, and made a new panel that goes over the top of the instruments between the instrument panel and firewall. Not too much work,
really. I move the whole engine forward so that the spinner is 45 inches in front of the firwall, instead of 39. I figure that I can always move the battery
back if CG needs to be adjusted. It should be just right were I to build aluminum end/center housing engine.(No plans for it, but who knows where we will be
in 5 years?)

I made the spinner 16 inches in diameter after talking with Everett Hatch. He suggested a larger spinner, maybe for esthtics, but it gives a much greater
volume in the front of the cowl than a 12 inch spinner.

Also looking at getting a smaller radiator or getting the one I have cut down, if C & R will do it. I think that a core volume of 18 x 16x 2 inches should be
sufficient. What do you think?

Ed can build a custom rad or cut down the one you have for you. 18 by 16 by 2 core sounds about
right. If you go with a 19 inch core the oil rad can sit along side.

Where is the starter going?

The big spinner is a good idea. The Nemesis next spinner is 19 inches in diameter.

What is that device under the engine and fuse?
