This is the week of the National Championship races at Mid Ohio raceway.
So far, RX-7s are on the pole and third fast. Daryl Drummond is advertising a
280 HP
injected 12A package. (required to breath through two 38MM chokes) So the
jury is in on injection vice carbs for racing. His best carb package was 262 HP.
Both are outstanding from a 12A side (bridgeported) motor turning well over
10,000 RPM.
PS:
The Toyota boys are already crying about how fast the rotaries are. The pole
time is now close to 2 seconds faster than the existing lap record. Be sure to
send a "Get Faster" card to Toyota.
We will film the race (Saturday) from mid pack as usual.

A 12A in a third gen? Maybe the SCCA should consider 10A's? :)

The use of carburetors and a 12A are related to the weird SCCA rules.
The 13B and injection would probably be faster.
