Hi George; The Chamber volume multiplied by the ratio of their widths
should
give it to you: 40 X 65/80 = 32.5 cu in or it 21st century terms 654

Thanks I didn't think of that one, but I did it another sneaky way and got
35 cu ins.
I just did it your way and got 35 cu ins as well.
I used the motor capacity the local Mazda shop gave me, 1146cc for the 12A
and 1308cc for the 13B.
It seems we disagree on the 12A size, I will have to check this up!

If you are looking for the total CFM you need to double this number
to make it equivalent to a four cycle piston engine. Then you can use
this chart from Hugh Macinnis book "Turbo Chargers" to determine the NA airflow
requirements at 80% vol. eff. Than add 20% for 100% vol. eff or add 40% for
120% vol. eff.. 120% is typical of a good P-port rotary engine with the right
diameter and length of intake pipe and for any RPM.
