It is time to free ourselves from off the

shelf

stuff that does not

fit.   The tight bends  combined with the

snorkel

give us the

opportunity to make a much shorter intake

that can

be easily be tuned

to the proper (18" to 22") length.

  3) Because of the snorkel and the tight

radius

runners, the plenum can

be placed over the center of the engine,

under

the  high center of the

cowl in the one place there is a little room

to

work with.

Thanks Robert.  the two inch donut would save

considerable space as

it's o.d. is only 6 inches. Unfortunately, I think

they will be too

tight but I am going to check that today to make

sure.    Perhaps we

could cut the 180 in half and  drop in a little

piece of tubing to get

an exact fit.  This may be the simple answer to

this old  problem that

has given us fits for  years.    Jerry

The Donuts come in various sizes of course. I haven't
seen that same vendor at the swap for some time, but
last week's swap a different vendor had a stainless
sample.
