Subject: Turbo charger matching program

Some time ago, an individual wrote a turbo matching program that input
variables so that you could somewhat pick a turbo from his included MAPS. It
even has a box for rotaries, efficencies, etc. Have you critiqued this
program, Paul? It is called TurboCalculator. Anyhow, messing with it, using
a 20B engine, the attached turbo came up as shown, it is a Holset HX series
Hx25hx25W, whatever that is. The second chart is at an atmospheric pressure
of 8 psi, if I rememeber correctly. It allows intercooler performance
effeciencies, pressure drops, volumetric efficencies, etc to be thrown in
the mix. The dots are at different rpms of the engine......

Marc,

Did you try the variables at 10lbs of boost? Somewhere I have the data
showing what it would do at 10lbs of boost based on an actual dyno run. It
would verify their data.

What turbo do they recommend? Is this info based on a wastegate being used?

My Dodge Diesel has a Holset turbo on it. Oil cooled. Nobody seems to be
having problems with it. Have the parts at the house from Banks to get a
little more oomph (100hp) from the engine.

Thanx for digging this up.
