That is the beauty of Tracy'w EFI system. Vacuum leaks don't count.
mixture is controlled by intake man pressure, air temp and RPM and
that is it. This means it automatically adjusts for vacuum leaks.
Not to say there are many vacuums in an AC engine at WOT in the first
place :)

Here is a far out idea.
Machine the four tubes that the U-tube slides into and out of from
3 inch diameter 2 inch ID Teflon tubing. Part number 8547K34. $104.50 a
foot
from McMaster Carr. Thick enough to hold Teflon encapsulated silicon
O rings. Cheaper and easier to machine than aluminum. Lighter than
aluminum
in the bargain. Thick enough to cut 180 degree bell mouths. Good to 500
degrees F. Slippery and inert to all known chemicals. Three inch OD two
inch
ID thick wall aluminum tubing is not cheap either at $50 a foot. Three
inch
aluminum rod is the same price and you have to bore large holes.
If that don't ring your chimes you can get .015 thick Teflon sheet
etched on one side for bonding to the aluminum U tubes.

Here is what the Teflon parts will look like.
Also the control. Slop is necessary in the yoke because of temperature
expansion
in the engine will move the U tubes around. They must be free or they
will bind. Much much cheaper than a constant speed prop and/or a constant
speed
prop capable PSRU.

The chap up the road, works for a Coy, who makes synthetic seals etc,
mostly non-standard sizes or special requirements. One of the materials
they uses is Teflon (white or grey).
I will ask him to make me up a couple of bell-shaped inlets for my manifold,
out of Teflon. Is there some sort of standard or guide I need to follow to
get the best results i.e. opening size Verses tube sizeVerses length V
diameter of ring ?

The dimensions of these things are closely controlled by the Lemans engine
intake system design. They are about 3 or four inches long with
a two inch ID. If you are building an exact copy of the Lemans
intake system I will up load drawings.
