David is a great guy (and ex-Air Force pilot). He has been very helpful
and
encouraging to me. He told me that at one time he was thinking about the
rotary as an aircraft power plant. He had one and was talked out of
putting
it in his Long-ez that he built. His job at Mazda entails protecting the
company from frivolous law suits. The stories he tells...the things
people
sue for are crazy! David is not a bad guy.

He sent me some nasty email. Or was it in person at SZP when he was
visiting
Klause?

Some times our jobs causes us to do things that others don't like ;)

My impression was it was strictly personal. I cannot imagine that anyone
at Mazda USA told him to say anything to me. They are much more likely to stonewall
these issues.

The letter I just wrote him ends like this: "Do you think there would be more frivolous law suits from 626 , or RX-8 engines in planes? The answer to your problem is serious tort reform!"
