Yes it is but a constant speed is cheaper and better as it is metal
(thinner) and not wood.

Not all constant speed props are metal, and my understanding is that
metal CS props are undesireable in some of the pushers due to weight issues.
There are composite hydraulic actuated CS props
(lighter) out there but they prolly cost more than metal.. Still
probably cheaper than $10,000 USD for an electric MT.

Don't forget Butch's electric LAEV.

I don't know where he is at the moment but last time I mentioned it to him
he said testing was delayed (as usual). I gather from this the chap who
offered to test the prop hadn't actually finished his project and still
hasn't.

I know there's a place and a value on everything, certainly Francoise's PSRU
will be right up there with the best, with costs accordingly; but for those
who are seeking a more cost effective approach for experimental, I think you
will find that Butch's design will fit the bill.

Yes I am waiting for news on Butch's design.  As for props I will still need
one tailored to my airplane. SeaWinds commonly use C/S metal props from
Hartswell or C/S carbon fiber over wood props from MT.

I love the design of Mistral's gearbox but I am concerned about the length
compared to Tracy's. Remember the SeaWind's CG with the I0-540 already needs
50 to 70 lbs ballast in the nose when flown solo.  Part of that weight is
the battery but it also makes for LONG wiring runs for the heavy amperage
cable.  Unacceptable.

Still thinking and even considering P ports, possibly, maybe, we'll see.
