I 'd like to make my headers out of thicker material, but I'm having a hard time finding 2"dia 321 stainless  with a tight bend-1" radius. This is dictated by my engine mount. I could go out and buy
another set of bends identical to the ones  I've already got on there, slit them open and weld them on to the existing pipes, which would effectively double the thickness.

It would be preferable to use much thicker headers in the first place. Anyone know where I can obtain .1 or thicker 321 stainless pipes 2" dia with a 1" radius bend?

I'm going to put a pretty robust 316 stainless heat shield completely encapsulating my exhaust system, but this is one area that really concerns me, and is not one where any failure is acceptable.


I'll send a photo if I can ever find the USB cable for my camera.

Here is a good picture I have.

Classic case of doing the motor mount sooner rather than last :)

Cut the left side  diagonal down tube and convert it to P51 style beam mount. 
That will give you all sorts of room for all sorts of exhaust system.
