here's some pics of a flex plate

The shiny part is what Tracy supplies. Power is transmitted
thru
those
rubber
grommets (I just slipped a few bolts in to hold it in place for
a
photo)

Paul and Kevin,
I am a little confused ( as usual)
The Photo showing the flexplate also shows the rear housing -
which is
different to the 13B as it has an extra bellhousing mounting hole
at 11
o'clock - is this normal for 20B housings ?

Yes it is. It does have an extra bolt.

Paul,
If anyone out there could give me a position of degrees on that extra
bolt
hole of the 20B. I could have that included in the bellhousing
pattern.

It could be that may 20B's are made-up of 13B parts and don't have
that
extra bolt hole so some builders won't need it. However I have already
discussed with Butch about an extra bolt hole at the top of the engine
to
replace the 8 o'clock position bolt hole when a LH ( facing the prop)
starter position is used. Butch feels it a good idea and agrees it
could be
incorporated into an aluminium end housing.

Any number of extra bolt holes could be used as the bolt pattern are
all on
the one diameter except one. So it would be easy to include the 20 B
bolt
position as well as our extra one as the facility for these are
already
there on the top flange.

George,
Here are some stock 20B rear housing pics. As you can see, they are
identical to the FD series (1993+ rewtt) automatic tranny 13B
engines-more were made of the AT fd's for usa use than the standard
trannys. I believe the Cosmo 13B motors were also all like this. Please
note that at the 7-8 o'clock position the AT starter (misses a bolt
hole). Perhaps a plate could straddle this position.....
