Thanks Francois that is pretty close to what we are guessing at.
I think Dave Leonard is going with the same compressor wheel and housing.
It will be good to see the new performance data. If it works out I will
get mine modified as well :) Did you have to space the turbo out to
accommodate the larger compressor wheel?

Who modified the turbo for you?

Dave who did yours?

BTW Francois got any pictures of that mounted turbo tach circuit.
I can't quite
figure out how it is mounted from just looking at the pictures on the
Spanish manufactures web site.

I found this turbo map on a website, if it is true to it's label this is the
stock series 5 turbo.  Thought you could use it.  I am having mine upgraded
by the RX-7 store, they are putting on the TO4 60-1 compressor wheel that
you noted is too close to the surge line. You are right, but at least it is
better than the stock turbo.  I will only be using it temporarily until I
can install my other turbo, sitting in my hangar, and here is it's map.
This is the TO4B V-trim with a .96 A/R turbine.  The upper end of those
lines are running the turbo at about 6100[0] rpm, 18000 feet, and 40" MAP.
This
should yield quite an impressive TAS.

I am designing the gearbox for the upcoming turbocompounding test with my
13B.  Could you tell me the diameter of the shaft coming out of the turbine
towards the compressor?

Also Dave when you speak to the shop next time do you think you could ask
them their if they could  modify a TO4 to peak at 60,000 rpm and maximize
torque at 30,000. I am having no joy writing emails to different companies
in USA. No answers. They obvious think I am a little warped when I mention
turbo-compound. Either that or Paul has already 'had at em' them with the
concept:)

I may have to go a larger T06 series to get the torque I need. It will have
a separate clutch and the generator and that will governed the
compressor.speed.  I am only looking for 110% atmospheric at 8,000 so the
compressor  side can be smaller and not so important to finalize at this
point.  If you get a name and a person to speak and start them down the
conservation path I'll take it up from there and call them.

Have you tried Garret Doug? I worked with them a few years ago on instrumenting
a turbo charged Mustang. I did not mention turbo compounding at the time.
In any event I am sure the engineers I worked with are gone.
