OK back to making our own. $172 Aus is still too steep for the trigger wheel.
I think we can get these computer laser or plasma cut at way less than that. The
pickup price is ridicules as well. Digikey has them for $60. Hall effect gear
teeth for $30. The hall sensor should be checked as the sensor plate changes distance.
For what its worth, water jet cutting will give the same accuracy in this instance since it is an edge cut -vs- a kerf width (their software will offset) for a lower price. Laser is $ times # of
through piercings plus $/inch cutting times life expectancy of tube. Water jet equipment does not carry the burden of expendable tube. I believe it is finer than plasma but no idea about cost
comparison between the two.
