My work says that mass flowrate is rho(density) x A( area) x V (velocity) and since it takes a certain mass flowrate of air to cool a specific quantity of BTUs....it therefore takes a certain area
(A above) to allow that mass flowrate. Yes, diffusers are key, as is the incremental airstream velocity, but if the area is not sufficient...the mass flowrate is probably not sufficient. My visual
windage says that his opening is less than 6" and probably more than 5". At 6" his area is 9 pi or about 28 sq. in. and at 5" diameter, his area is about 20". Neither of these areas will flow
sufficient mass flowrate to cool 200 HP unless he is in a very cool environment...or the temperature increase through his engine is considerable above 50 deg F, generally considered the maximum
desired.

You are still not warm Doug :) You are getting too complicated.
Hint! The problem is wide spread and very very simple but subtle and low tech.
