I am planning the systems on my Renesis RV7 and am looking at the
James cowling. Could you post a sketch of where you are going to mount the
oil and water radiators. Are you going to use the competion oil cooler that
is 50% larger than stock? My RV7 is being built by a pro so I need to get
on with the fit out plans chop chop. I am planning to go all digital
instruments using Dynon and Tracy.

Ian,

First, I want to appologize for the crudeness of the drawings. I don't
have the fancy CAD programs that some on this list use to create the
beautiful drawings. These were done with a straight edge on a magazine
sitting on my lap. So please excuse them. I will also post some pics of
the cowling loosely fitted to the mock firewall. I say loosely, because I
basically just slid the cowling over the engine and slid it around until
it was close to where it will sit. I am going to lay my radiators under
the engine, with the leading edge tipped up. I am not planning on using
the extra large oil cooler, just the standard size Mazda. The water
radiator will be the same length, and then width I need to calculate how
much I need. That part is not figured yet. There is quite a bit of room in
the cowling, so I was playing around with some different possibilities for
cooling arrangement. I have put all those drawings on as well. Paul could
proabably help you more with what will work for you, but I plan to install
them side by side with the forward end up. Then a cowl flap across the
bottom of the cowl exit area. Hope some of this helps, I will keep you up
to date as my project slowly progresses.

Ben sent half a dozen picture which is too much to publish in one messages
so here are the first three.

If Will can send me a scale 2D of the cowling with dimensions I will do a fancy
3D of all three plans. To check and see if everything fits.

Ben, Tube A and Tube B rule out Plan A. Send me Dimension A
and I will incorporate the motor mount into the scale 3D for Plan B and Plan C.
