I agree with Paul Lamar.  The changes that Paul Conner has made are
good, but I'd be surprised if he saw a 2 degree difference.  The air
doesn't notice that little ridge as much as one might imagine.  It sure
as heck notices the sudden departure of the solid surface as it passes
the firewall, though.
