Tracy Saylor finally got his RV10 motor mount and cowl
kit. Looks like we may be able to design a 3 rotor engine mount
that will bolt directly to this mount. I'll see what
I can do. I was unable to measure the cowl length
so I am guessing it is around 40 inches long.
The thrust line position I am assuming is centrally
located between the four motor mounts shown. Those with
an IO-540 or O-540 engine please check this and verify it
for me.
Since the cowl is 41 inches wide more or less there is room in there
for two 3 rotors engines side by side :) The intake manifold
and muffler design will be a piece of cake.

Does not look practical to use all of the RV10 stock
motor mount. Some can be used.
Here is a preliminary 3D layout for a 3 rotor P-port engine.
Should be good for around 375 HP.
Looks like a plenty big heat exchanger is possible under the engine.
The air scoop is as low as it is to insure maximum effect from
the prop slip stream. At take off and climb it should add about
ten percent to the airspeed and about 40% more dynamic pressure.
It should also cool well while taxiing.
Cowling length here is about 44 inches long.
Perhaps Will James can build you RV10 guys a custom cowl.

You need to find a picture of the optional Continental IO-360 mount. I
believe it's a bed style mount like the O-470 in your 182. That may be an
easy adaptation to the 20B.

You are the best person I know for the job Mike being in the
thick of things up there in RVville :)
BTW a bit of brain fade there on my part. 10% improvement in air speed flowing
into the scoop is only a 20% improvement in dynamic pressure
and not 40%.
