Sounds extremely promising.  I found a local Mazda speed shop who said

making them is encouraging.  I think I'll give Neil Hintz (of Sub4) a ring
and see what he has to say...

I gave you the price on the rotary as I believe it's the cheapest way to go,
if you count all the fuel injection parts etc. and you want a Renesis
single.
For myself I want a Renesis /Cosmo/ 12A single as I didn't buy the renesis
motor. You can go one way or the other!
RX8 rotor $250 Aust cutting deeper grooves, $150 Aust
RX8 stationary gear $250
Rotor Housing $500 Aust
Use Tracy's seals $90 US ( single rotor)
Use Creavey TES seals ( water jacket and oil) $100
RX8 pick and timing wheel $100 Aust ( second hand)

Could cost up to $1,500 for a single e-shaft ( prices quote to me). However
I'm now doing my own, price not yet confirmed as I'm doing a bit here and a
bit there. Don't use a cut down 13B shaft for Aviation use!! There is
someone doing cast shafts in the states for $500 !!? It has been suggested
to me that porosity might be a problem with casting, even with 4340!

So you see $3,000 isn't too bad, but what's it made-up of !!?
Do your sums and unless you have all the parts, like housings ( I already
had a good 12A set of end housings). Do a comparison !

We are not talking big dollars here! I have been advised against the cheaper
EMS for Aviation - Tracy's look good!

I'm developing  a bellhousing and an Aussie PSRU if you are interested !
