Sorry to inject a newbie question into this fascinating discussion, but I
am
building a single place gyro and wish to power it with a single-rotor
Renesis. The airframe is designed for a Rotax 503, and in this
configuration will accommodate a 66" prop. Does anyone know where I can
find drawings of the Renesis engine, so that I can work out the geometry
of
the engine mount and redrive offset in order to swing a 68" prop? Also,
any
info re: CG of the Renesis would be helpful.

I assume you have a source for single rotor Renesis engines. If so
there are a bunch of people on here that would like to know
about it. Here are some drawings of the regular 13B. From this you
subtract one rotor housing and the center housing. This is about
as close as I can come. The CG should be very close to the center
of the engine. You will have to add the starter, alternator and other
accessories CG's to the basic engine CG.

I'm working on a forged single e-shaft, as we speak ( 4340 material). I will
be using 12A end housings with RX8 rotor/stationary gear and timing
wheel/pick-up.
Local RX8 dealer is $2,300 Aust, for the motor. This has most things on it
except a Bellhousing and starter. I added this info as your fairly local.
I will use my own Aussie Bellhousing and PSRU.

The weight of a 13B is approx 320 lbs (all-up) [firewall forward]
the weight of the single is
approx 60 lbs less. That should help with your W&B.
There is someone in NZ making shafts, but I can't remember who they are.
Please advise us if you find out if they do single e-shafts and the price of
course.
