Hi Tony and all on the nwes letter,
As Paull and many other know I have been installing a Renesis in my
Mustang2 for some time. I have a friend who owns a Mazda dealership and
he said they had a new short motor in stock that they imported for some
guy who was going to build Gyro's using the Renesis engine. They
imported this engine for him.I was able to buy this for $6500 AUS and
that is the engine that I have installed in the Mustang2. In the last
few weeks I have purchased a complete Renesis engine from a engine
recylcler in Queensland. The people there where good to deal with and
George Lendich did me a good favour and went out to see these people and
pick out an engine for me. There are many rumors to the origin of these
engines and why they became available. Some say they where crash test
engines but there seems to be no damage except for the handling of these
engines. I have taken the plugs out and found very almost no carbon and
gust a little black smoke which wiped off. I have since taken off the
exhaust covering and found the same.


I have been racking my brain over
all of this to come up with an answer! I then remembered that my friend
who owns the Mazda dealer ship telling me that Mazda sent a new engine
to all major cities a new engine at the time of the release of the RX8.
My friend was trying to get one of these engines for me at the time.

Mazda used these engine to demonstrate to all the service people how it
worked and what better way but for these guys to be looking at an
engine. Mazda where also covering there ASS having a complete engine
that was not tested to there normal standard but where under pressure by
Ford to get the product out. Ian Beatle and a friend have also purchased
one of these engine for there new RVs. I believe that this is the only
reason that this dealer would have 40 engines all in the same condition.
George made the comment that they where all very similar except some had
more rust on the flywheel. I have looked closely at the flywheel and can
see no indication that a clutch has ever been run on the face. I think
you guys in the US should look to your local dealers to see what
happened to the US ones. I an sure that the engine that I have purchased
was never run in a vehicle but Dyno checked only.

Thanks for the story, but I'm curious as to how you managed to ship it to
WA for $150 as noted by George, did you post it or send it by canoe?
(myself I'm practically a neighbour, near Calgary).  Who do we contact,
if we want one of these mistery engines?  You can reply directly if you
