Here are some photos that might make it a bit more interesting for your
readers.

You can clearly see where the side of the brakeline is missing with a piece
that apparently got blown out.  Not a clean brake which makes me strongly
suspect metal fatigue.  If you look very closely at the forward middle end
of the gap caused by the missing side, you can barely see the crack continue
in the upper part of the tube.  The white powder you see everywhere is the
fire extinguisher material.  That polyester resin of the wheel pant really
burns quite well {:>).

Fortunately only the tire and wheel pant were damaged beyond repair.   I
strongly recommend anyone with aluminum brake lines to carefully inspect
them for any signs of damage or fatigue.  I now have only stainless steel
braided lines.
