 A*O*L owns Earthlink if you haven't heard. I would be really surprised
if that was the reason the messages were bouncing.

Are you sure? I thought they were owned by Verizon.  Earthlink allows
any browsers.  I am using Thunderbird.  Perhaps that makes a difference.

   Nope, EarthLink is owned and files with the SEC as:

       Reporting Owners = Dayton Sky D., 1601 Cloverfield Blvd, Suite
5000, North Tower, Santa Monica, CA 90404

   AOL and CompuServe are look-alikes and CS is owned by AOL, as
someone already pointed out.  Prodigy also is an AOL/CS look-alike and
may be owned by AOL as well.

   I work on computer systems all the time and can recommend a couple
ISP's other than those mentioned above.  Why not try:


       AT&T WorldNet (www.att.net <http://www.att.net>)
       $16.95/mo    (/no contract/)
       GTC (www.gtcinternet.com <http://www.gtcinternet.com>)
       $7.99/mo     (/1-yr contract/)

   I have personal experience with AT&T, and a client of mine
recommends GTC Internet.  With these systems, you bring your own browser
and e-mail client or (if you must) have webmail available.  No fuss. No
muss.  No advertising.  And, no non-standard mail system, like AOL and
CS....

   There may be other good choices.... nearly anything is better than
AOL/CS
