No you are correct. I don't a O-ring in that application. It will
eventually wear unevenly, ingest grit and not seal as well as other seals
designed specifically for that purpose but it is a mute point now because
for the prototype it should work fine. BTW I liked your design because it
eliminates the possibility of air leakage "BETWEEN" the two ports which
could be a factor in the timing.
So... George I am starting to come around to the P port way of thinking.
You
warned me about this:) I will be totally convinced when we get within 10%
of the famous "one half Lemans engine" output at any rpm setting. More
dyno
time is needed of course and I wonder if it is a money constraint or
Dave's
need of the dyno for other purposes? Is there a possibility of setting it
up on another dyno in another location? Paul has done a lot of work and
it
seems a shame to install it in an aircraft without further tweaking.
I still can't get my mind around the advantages or disadvantages of a
RENESIS P port though. Someone will have to make one and dyno it to be
sure
I guess.
