It is true only if the wheel on the beam is in the same plane as all
other wheels.
The picture shows that the loaded beam moved the wheel up. Was the
other wheel on the ground, or did you use something to move it up, to
the same level as the wheel on the beam?
If the other wheel was on the ground than you applied MORE than 1/4
weight load on the beam.
But it the beam passed under this higher load that should make everyone
happy.

I'm impressed by Bill's calculated deflection of 0.141 and Jerry's
measured deflecton of 0.145. Maybe there's something to this science
stuff. :)
If the wheel is higher, the load will be less. Raising one side will
shift the CG of the car toward the lower wheel. If you raise it far
enough, you could balance it with your fingers. I don't think the
difference for Jerry's test is significant.
