Tom, I talked to Jim Poole. He is interested. He quoted me a very reasonable
hourly rate for boring the p-port holes in the rotor housings.
Contact him directly. His phone number is 805 933 2449.
I told him there
would be more people interested in the future. The more he can do at the
same times lowers his cost because of set up time. He knows nothing about the
JB Weld so make sure the rotor housings are potted in advance.

Thanks Paul, I'm planning on ordering my housings from Mazdatrix in the next couple
weeks. I'm ordering the '89 Turbo housings. I'll pot the areas prior to sending to
Jim. Does he create the insert? I'm assuming the insert and the mounting flange are
welded prior to installing in the housing. I can weld the flange to the insert. Then
I'll have to set up an intermediate housing to bolt the rotor housings to and set the
slide throttle up bolted to the flange so everything will line up when completed. I
know you've already done this so I'm looking for guidance here. Thanks T.W.
You will have to do the insert tube assemply. Since Jim is my next door hangar
neighbor I have some tubing so he can check the bore dimensions. Unfortunately we
don't have a good tig welder guy on the SZP airport at beck and call. I have a tig
machine but I am not good enough welder to use it.
You have the assembly procedure right. Don't forget to recess the flanges
when you weld them on the short tubes so the edge of the tube is flush with
the inner face of the slide throttle housing. A little sanding should clean
them up if they stick out a little too far.
