Paul ,  instead of welding the bracket directly to the truss, it is
now welded to  doublers made of .058 x 4in 4130  (1 inch tube slit
in half).  The doublers are then clamped to  the truss  with hose
clamps.  Later, I will  braze them  to the tube.   A second
identical  doubler could be added  to the back side, over kill in my
opinion but easy to do and weighs nothing.   Just guessing but I
would think the .058 doubler would  at least double the resistance to
buckling.     Jerry


That is better. Buckling is not the main issue IMHO as those
tubes are mostly in tension.
