Paul,  I made a "little" bracket for the alternator yesterday.  The
base plate is 3/16 steel and the two bolt holes are slotted so that
belt alignment could be dialed in. The actual bracket was hogged out
of a piece of steel 2 in sq x 3 long .  it is too  strong and too
thick but  light enough once I got thru drilling holes in it. The
belt clears everything with room to spare.  No tensioning arm yet.

A little over kill on the forward part of the bracket
as the one on the after portion  takes 90% of the alternator load due to
the belt tension. Not a problem as it just adds weight and fab time.
A simple single shear tab would work fine.

With that big steel plate on there you
could weld the tabs for the aft motor mount rubber ball joint
like Bill Schertz did. That one part could do it all.
