I too am having problems opening it in full Solidworks.

OK Guys what is your Solid Works 3 & 4 letter file extension?  I also have a
few native file extensions such as .stp, .step, .dwg, .stl, .slc .dxf.

Here is an iges that is Solid Works specific. If this does not work
Solid Works changed their file format which is not surprising as ACAD
did that a couple of times busting backward compatibility.

Ken,

I went to Rhino's site.  www.rhino3d.com and got their eval to
view the file.  They have a free importer to import the files
into solidworks.  I'll try the importer tonight.

You mean to tell me John, Solid Works does not import iges files. I think
you need to check again. It worked for me in the past.

Paul, there is no problem importing that Monty-IGEs ziped file in to
SoliWorks 2006. I'm not sure what the problem is for the rest of these ppl.
If they are trying to open it in the SolidWorks viewer program "E-Drawings"
then they may be having problems. However if they are doing it in
E-drawings.. its pretty much pointless as you can't do to much other than
view items created by SoliWorks or like programs. Just for Ref. SolidWorks
can open something like 30 different types of files, including Inventor
files as well as IGES, STEP [various versions] and a TON of other types,
there should be no problem opening this IGES. Are they operating current
versions.  Also I'm working on a accurate  model of the various parts as
well as accessories but its not ready to pass on yet. Attached is a slap
dash rendering of a engine block model I'm currently using. This rendering
is pretty hacky but.. shows some det.

Thanks for the rendering Jarrett. Looks good. I am glad to see someone
else knocking this stuff out. Looks more detailed than the Monty engine.
Please send me a zipped iges and I will see if it loads into Rhino.

I see that it uses the Aussie 3 rotor e-shaft with the roller main
bearing. Cool. They also have a four rotor version which would
be just great for some of the larger airplanes.
