Thank for your most informative web site on Rotary engines for aircraft use.
I have purchased a Rotary engine 13bt and am starting to modify it for
aircraft use. I aim to modify it to give me approximately 200hp @ 6500 Rpm.
The kit i aim to purchase is the CH801.
I shall be ordering the RWS ignition control system once Tracy and Laura
are back in office.
Could you please express your opinion, on weather the PSRU's that are on
the market are able to handle a electrically controlled variable pitch
prop and what the maximum diameter of the prop should be.
I have not made my mind up yet to manufacture my own PSRU or to by one
out from America. We have extremely competent Turners in South Africa
and to manufacture one myself would be a great saving, our Rand/Dollar
exchange is very high. You mention the Planetary gear to use comes from
the Ford E40D auto gearbox. I have consulted with our local ford dealers
but to no avail can they help me with that 6 pin planetary gear system.
Is it possible for you to forward me to a ford dealership in America who
knows what we are talking about, to get a costing on these parts so i
may make a decision as to build or buy a PSRU.

Just about any of them will handle electric adjustable but that is
not the cheapest or even the best props to use. A metal constant
speed is the most efficient right at the moment.
Mistral has a nice PSRU that will handle a hydraulic constant speed
