Paul-
Looking at my fuel pumps, I see that they are designed to use flexible
hose, using a clamp. The intakes on each can be removed & an AN style
fitting substituted, but the outputs look like they cannot be modified.
Can you recommend a part number from McMaster Carr for appropriate
hosing from the pumps to the fuel rail? I'm not wild about using hose,
but don't see that I have a choice. I'd like to order all the fuel
system bits today or tomorrow so I can start installing it over the
weekend.

That is a very unfortunate part about those MSD pumps. I wish I could
find a high pressure fuel pump with all AN fittings.
High quality small hose clamps are the main problem. Looks like smooth
bore
Miniature Machine Screw Hose clamps 53175K62 looks the best.
Careful what you buy in the hardware. Store some clamps are made from
mild cheap steel.
I would get the U-build SS braided Teflon in 5/16 or 13/32
ID. You will have to get some or measure the barb carefully
to get the right size. 52515K13 or 14

IF you are looking for fuel pumps with screw fitttings, Bosch makes
several in various flow rates for the cis injection system. They have a
working pressure of 55 psi.. The electronic fuel injection pressure
regulator will dorp this pressure down to what is needed. The pumps have
a build in check valve on the output and have screw connectors. The
larger ones are fdor mercedes and porsche and can be had in sizes to
better than 300 hp. The screw fittings are metric but can be converted
to SAE by silver soldering a 37 degree flare on to a metric hollow
bolt. It will take a lathe to make these. Perhaps Earls supply has these
already made up. I have not looked in their catalog recently.
I have done just this on an airplane and several cars.
