Does anyone know where the center line of the E-shaft on the Renesis is in
relation to the oil pan bolts?
The oil pan bolts are on 11 7/8 inch centers(measuring across the width of
the engine). Is the center of the E-shaft centered on these bolts? Also
what is the height of the center of the E-shaft above the oil pan/engine
juncture?
I am working to build my own engine mount and need these measurements to set
up the thrust line and offsets.
I am using the plate from Conversion Concepts, but Fred's illness prevented
him from building the remainder of the mount in a timely manner.
So, I am now on my own. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill Bradburry

The center line is 160 mm up from the bottom of the engine proper.
6.299"
If it is 302 mm side to side (11.889") it should be about
centered or 151 mm each way as far as I can measure based on
the rotor housing die casting which is the same.
Gee Bill after all the time and labor Jerry and I put into your
motor mount you are going to use that dumb idea sandwich plate and
build your own? :) What are your reasons for using that plate?
Did you pay for it already and you can't get your money back?
I don't mind your building your own mount but please do it right.
Don't use that plate.
Why don't you just get a Schertz beam kit from Jerry for $50 and build a proper
mount? I'll be glad to help you including giving you exact lengths and
dimensions for all the tubes. Including joint patterns so no trial
and error fitting of tube joints will be required. I want you to
have a safe motor mount.
The latest idea is to move the Schertz beam back under the front housing.
Not shown in these 3Ds but I can redo them for you. These dimensions
are worked out so the prop flange comes out in the middle of
the stock cowl opening using the 2 degree right and one degree
down thrust angles.
What cad program are you using. I can also supply dwg's to almost
any cad program.
What ever you do make a 1/4 scale balsa model first using 3/16th" balsa
sticks and a 1/2 inch chunk of ply wood for the firewall. You will
soon see and understand the problems with the sandwhich plate.
