That settles it , I've got to say something. I run on the discarded
cooking oil after simply filtering it. The previously mentioned process
seems a waste of time and effort to me. This way I burn the lot rather
than splitting off the glycerine.
Certain modifications are required to deal with starting problems due to
the lower cetane rating ( the inverse of  octane ), and viscosity
problems in relation to the fuel filter. Was costing  me about 2.5 cent
a litre, a bit more now since I'm not getting canola, but some sort of
blend which has very fine brown particles from oxidation when I get it.
They clag up my filters quicker if I don't let it settle long enough and
decant the clear stuff.

Very good John. I guess you don't live in California... I used to
believe the tree hugger regulations there were really for the
environment until they outlawed your completely renewable form of energy
on the road  :-)))) I had 3 sources available until my diesel left with
my ex-wife in the divorce.
