I think you are right on the airboat prop for the load

Here in the land of swamps and wetlands ther are a lot of airboats, and some
of those boys are better aviation mechanics than most A&Ps. There are a lot
of used props out there relatively cheap...

Google "Airboat Trader" and check out the "Parts"  or "props" sections.

I agree with Tony. Several years ago, I had customer/client/friend who was
having trouble with engines he was rebuilding. They had a couple go down ,
etc.. He built a test stand where they used west 'non-tso'ed cylinder and
egt temp probes, along with every other gauge he could find in the shop, I
think. Anyway, the whole purpose of this tale is that he had a prop repair
place out of Atlanta build him a "club" (short fat bladed) prop that, with
an extender/adapter or two, simply bolted right up to most engines and it
and a screened, steel shield could be installed very quickly. The engine run
in, the whole works was done rather easily as well as quickly; and, since it
did not cost that much, I am pretty sure it was built from no longer
serviceable stuff. A prop shop or some airboat people might be very good
source for something like this; and, you fellers are surely smart enough to
figure out how to measure torque from such a set up once the minor details
of gettin'er done and not killin' your self are resolved.
