Hello All-

Just a quick note that I was successful in converting the stock RX-7
80Amp alternator from internally regulated to externally regulated.  At
least I think I was successful -- some quick bench testing was positive
& resulted in the expected behavior.  I will not have conclusive results
until I fire up the engine for the first time & stick an ammeter on the
shunt.

In any case, I got good instructions from a builder on the Aeroelectric
list on how to do this.  It took all of 15 minutes - a very easy
modification to make.  Let me know if you are interested in this
procedure & I will pass along the relevant instructions.
