Paul,
I like your first sentence above! At 50 psi, with a wall thickness of
.063", the longitudinal stress is about 1590 psi. This would be the
stress near the welded joint. The circumferential stress is about
6350 psi. I don't have a aluminum data table handy, so, I don't know
if this puts us in the ballpark with the drawn Zero cans or not.

It is well within the ultimate 11,000 psi tensile strength for that
1100 alloy
in the O condition. It works hardens like any other aluminum. At H14
the number
is 16,000 psi. Never the less I don't recommend using it at a
pressure higher
than 30 psi.

From memory it is not a problem until it reaches about 500 F.
