Paul has anyone tried this engine wiith tracys redrive? I've seen alot of
these in the Rotorway Turbo Exec. 160hp not bad. How thirsty is it though?
and can it be throttled up and down without a bunch of frequency issues?

Not that I know of. BSFC could be as high as 1 or 160 pounds per hour or
26.6 gallons an hour for 160 HP.

There is a fellow here in Austin that has a 1 set helicopter with one of
these engines. I think he said it idles at 12 gph and 14 gph WOT.

He is dreaming :) That is a BSFC of .525 no way in hell will that happen
with a small turbine.

He is getting about 1:15 flight.

If he is only using 90 HP he is burning less fuel.

BSFC is a measure of how much fuel is burned for each HP.

A piston engine would burn 40.5 pounds per hour or 6.75 GPH at 90 HP.

That sounds like a Helicycle which uses remanufactured T62T-32 engines.
They have a completely new gear box on them designed and developed
specifically for this application.   It's well engineered and flys like a
dream.
