The Corvair guys are having a time now with broken cranks, ...torsional
stress, non-nitrided, high HP output problems.
They don't seem to be very forward thinking.
If I sent you a couple of pictures would you mind making a drawing (jpg)
from them of a Corvair engine with a Tracy (or other esthetically
looking design) type redrive. Just to get them thinking.
Right now they are thinking nitriding and spline drive will get them
what they want. No one has mentioned isolating the propeller from the
crankshaft, ie., isolation dampers and redrive. This redrive would work
since they could turn the engine faster, maybe between 4,000 and 4,500
rpm for more HP.
I'm sure you are busy, but if you don't mind. Just enough detail to
make it look like the Corvair engine.

I don't want to waste any time on it. Turning it faster is not going
to help.
