Wow, Vans has come full circle! He started out by slowly
metalizing a Stits design, most of which had full span itty
bitty ailerons. And that eventually gave birth to the RV-3
(I think...)
We just increased the size of the ailerons on our Stits
Flut-R-Bug just so we could have enough roll control in
bumpy conditions. Made them thicker and deeper chordwise,
3/8" trailing edge to boot. Doubled the roll rate.
I predict he changes the ailerons before the design is
finalized.
