Hi Paul,
Hope Osh was good. I have been working on the idea of placing a
modified rectangular augmenter on top of the engine. This requires a
remote water pump and maybe moving the alternator to a flywheel pulley
at the rear (pusher) of the engine, The advantage of the top mounted
augmenter is that it gets rid of the heat and has a better path for the
air from the bottom of the cowl in front of the engine. The cardboard
ejector cutaway in the pics is 30" long and 5" X 15". I think it could
be made from stainless sheet on a "windsor" wheel. It will protrude
slightly out of the uppercowl and could be sealed like the shaker hood
scoop on the old muscle cars. The headers were mocked up with PVC pipe
and could be tuned. I could bring the intake tubes straight out into
the wing root area and feed them from an armpit scoop or a NACA inlet.
This could be PPort or stock. What do you think
Well as I see it the exhaust pipes are a complication. You have to get
them up and over everything else. Also do you have the augmenter papers
from NACA? Your augmenter seems a little too wide.

Yes I have the NACA report and it mentioned that the aspect ratio of the
augmenter should be 3 that is why P chose 5 X 15.
Joe
Still seems a little big for only 200 HP.
Certain models of twin Cessna had augmenters. Good to copy
one of those.
