This is incorrect. Think about it. If there were really
low pressure inside the radiator duct that low pressure would
act on the tunnel floor as well as the roof. The pressure forces
would cancel. Actual the resistance of the radiator core
to air flow will cause high pressure in the tunnel.
If you removed the tunnel floor that would result in lift
on the nose and not down force.

Perhaps the author of the autoweek article mis quoted Jim Tigue.
I can't believe an aerodynamics engineer working for Burt Ruttan
got it so wrong. Anybody have an email address for Jim Tigue or
Scaled.
