I'm getting ready to bore some holes in rotor housings for a P-Port and
wonder if I can locate the port opening position for the P-Port by measuring
the relative location of the existing side port opening positions. I.e. if
the side port opening position is at 80deg BTDC then can I just measure the
same distance up from the bottom of the rotor housing for the bottom of the
P-Port opening?

As I recall it is 8.64 inches up to the center of the hole
from the bottom of the rotor housings. I scaled it off this
drawing of the Lemans engine.

I used an angle plate and made the bore perpendicular to
the vertical center line of the rotor housing.

I recently updated the web site on this subject so look it
over and if you need more info or pictures let

I started with a 1 inch drill and then used a 1.5 inch shell cutter
with the final cut using a boring bar.

You will need to make a slide throttle as well.
I have not heard from Tom Weber lately so I don't
know if you can still get one from him. They are easy to make
anyway. Let me know if you need a drawing for that.


Paul Lamar ...No rotor no motor.

Also Joe get a junk rotor housing from Hayes or Atkins to
practice on. And pot it with JB Weld before you drill and bore.
Mazdatrix sells it in the large size for about $16. You will
need two sets.
