Hi Paul
Here are the pictures of my cooling system and the plane.
Changing from inside air to the engine to outside added 500 rpm to the
previous max. in flight of 5400.
Changing the 68X86 Prince P tip prop. to a 68X78 P P tip took the rpm to
7200 at 150knots. Previous was 140knots.
The cooling was better with the new prop. Around 100C (212) for both oil
and Evans Plus. At full throttle.
The next step is to redo the inlet duct as the temporary one is quite
restrictive, only 50mm diameter from the throttle body 75mm.
I will make a fiberglass ram air snorkel.
How big should I make the inlet to the ram scoop?

Note: Please hold the emails after the 11 th as I am off to Melbourne. I
was going to pop into Cobra but perhaps that might not be such a good
idea now.

Ian Beadle,  5 hours up and counting.

Ian, while you are in Melbourne please stop by Guru and see if they
will build an RX8 p-port engine with my slide throttle.
Ask the price while you are at it. I am curious about
how they feel about the slide throttle. They should also be real
curious on how well it works. I would also like
to see them test it on their dyno.

Here is a drawing however I went up on the thickness of the Teflon
to 3/8 from 1/4 inch. Have them incorporate the throttle cable
anchor with the side plates. If they can't get the Teflon in
Aus I can ship them some.
